This beautiful winter leaf is portrayed in coloured inks. A wash in ink was applied for the basic colour and then the detail was added using a dip pen and ink.

I love this dessicated leaf. Brilliant study. And the gourd- really captures it.
I cannot believe there are no other comments: such a super portfolio.
Thank you so much for looking at the paintings. The leaf is done in ink and life-size. The gourd, here, was quite a challenge trying to make the warts stand out.
Yes I can imagine but you have succeeded. I think imperfection of any kind can be much harder to capture.
